Uncanny
Legend Biotech — Car-T Cell Therapy

Become a Legend.

A hands-on booth about CAR-T cell therapy.

How Uncanny helped Legend Biotech explain CAR-T cell therapy at Nerdland Festival, across the 2025 and 2026 editions.

The brief

Legend Biotech develops and researches CAR-T cell therapies, which use a patient's own immune cells to target a specific type of cancer.

The task: make a highly technical process clear in a hands-on booth at Nerdland Festival, in both 2025 and 2026.

At a glance

One booth, two editions. An eight-step therapy explained through play.

The challenge

Make a complex therapy clear without oversimplifying it.

Legend Biotech needed to explain a complex scientific process to both science enthusiasts and families. The booth had to be accurate, approachable, and easy to enter.

CAR-T cell therapy follows a clear eight-step sequence. Screens, panels, and assignments had to guide visitors through that same order.

Our role

A training camp built around the CAR-T process.

Uncanny created a training camp concept. Visitors entered as white blood cells and moved through each step of the CAR-T process themselves.

We developed the concept into a full booth experience and coordinated the screens, panels, assignments, visitor materials, and Celfie Scanner with Legend Biotech and the production partners.

What we built

Seven parts of one booth experience.

What we built
01

Visual Style

Concept design · across the booth

We developed the visual style for the training camp concept and applied it to the booth design, panels, assignments, screen content, stickerbook, stickers, and Celfie Scanner UI. The design had to stay playful without making the science feel too light.

Screen Content

The CAR-T process on screen · booth displays

Five booth screens explained the CAR-T process step by step. Each one matched a physical panel on the stand, so visitors saw the same story on screen and in the space.

Celfie Scanner

Interactive station · selfie → super cell

An interactive station turned a visitor's selfie into a "super cell" portrait. It gave the training camp a personal takeaway. In total, 2,047 celfies were generated on the booth.

For the 2026 edition, Uncanny rebuilt the Celfie Scanner as part of the updated booth experience.

The Boothcamp

Showcase Experience · 9×4m stand

A 9×4m stand with assignment stations, panel walls, a cryo/ball box, and screens. Visitors moved through the space as cells in training, from the cryo column to the grabber-arm tank, the bioreactor, and the Celfie Scanner.

Deege BV built the stand, Tailormate produced the panels, and Allrent supplied the screens.

Field Guide

Stickerbook & stickers · 3,000 copy print run

A three-panel stickerbook, printed 3,000 times, linked the assignment stations together. Floor stickers and collectible stickers helped visitors move through the process, one sticker per step.

Aftermovie

Social video · the experience as it happened

An aftermovie combined Uncanny footage, Legend Biotech testimonials, and rushes from partner Rokon. The edit shows visitors using the Celfie Scanner, watching the animations, doing the assignments, and moving through the booth.

How it came together

From the 2025 booth to the rebuilt 2026 edition.

The Showcase Experience first ran at Nerdland Festival 2025 and returned in 2026. Uncanny developed the training camp concept into a full booth with screens, panels, assignments, visitor materials, and the Celfie Scanner. We also coordinated Legend Biotech with the production partners so each element followed the same eight-step CAR-T story on site.

The outcome

What the work delivered.

01

Screen content that matched the physical CAR-T story on the booth.

02

An interactive Celfie Scanner with a personal visitor takeaway.

03

2,047 celfies generated on the booth.

04

An aftermovie for Legend Biotech and Uncanny social channels.
